30 Second:

Hi I’m state representative Matt Bliss.

Our state and our country are at a tipping point.

We are suffering a historic crime wave, record price increases, gas and energy prices are soaring ever higher, and our schools have lost their focus on our children’s education

We need to restore order in our communities. We need to stand up, acknowledge this is not working and pave a better path.

Your vote matters!  Be part of the solution on Tuesday November 8th

I’m Matt Bliss and I humbly ask for your vote.

60 Second:

Hi I’m state representative Matt Bliss.

Our state and our country are at a tipping point, with violent crime soaring, inflation at record highs, and gas and energy costing us more and more.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Democrats refuse to hold criminals accountable and have attempted to defund our police.

And they want more and more regulations on our lives and our businesses, driving costs even higher.

Minnesota Democrats refuse to acknowledge the harm their policies cause

We need to restore order in our state and country, and we have to send a strong message that says “this is not working and we must pave a better path.”

Minnesota families simply cannot afford another two years of extreme policies making our lives unecessarly harder.

Instead, let’s get back to educating our children, helping businesses thrive, and ensuring our communities are safe for all.

On Tuesday November 8th we all have an opportunity to be a part of the solution.

Your vote matters!  We can fix this if we stand together .

I’m Matt Bliss and I humbly ask for your vote.

New Radio Ad Transcripts

60 Second ad:

Hi, I’m State Representative Matt Bliss and I’m proud to have once again received the endorsement of the MN Police and Peace Officers Association.

But I’m even more proud to have supported them through thick and thin.  Our state is suffering from a surge in violent crime, and if we are going to make our communities safer we need to give our law enforcement the resources they need to recruit, train, and retain officers to meet this challenge.  I support additional funding for recruitment, training and retainment

But there is another way to support law enforcement and that is by holding criminals accountable when they do break the law.  I support Increasing penalties for trafficking fentanyl, carjacking and also holding judges and prosecuting attorney’s accountable

Providing law enforcement officers with the support they need, while holding criminals accountable, keeps our communities safer.

Join me in supporting our Law Enforcement and letting them know we have their backs!

I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8th

Hi this is Matt Bliss and I’m proud of my record as a state representative. During my time in office, we cut health care costs for those on the individual market and ended surprise medical billing. We provided tax cuts to our main street businesses, working families and provided the largest increase to school funding in state history, and we were able to FINALLY secure state funding for our Bemidji Veterans Home and the new student center at BSU.

When I return to St. Paul I will fight to re-open our economy and bring jobs to our region so Minnesotans can get back to work. I also will work to reduce health care costs, fix roads and bridges and protect our conservative values. And I will always advocate for public safety, from defending our 2nd Amendment rights to supporting law enforcement officers and beyond.

Hi I’m Matt Bliss 20 years ago I chose to return this area and call it home, I have lived many places throughout our wonderful country but have never found a place so beautiful and the people so welcoming.  We have a certain way of life up north, we enjoy our natural resources and all they have to offer and we work hard for our families and communities.  We don’t ask for much and we like to provide for ourselves.  We love the outdoors and prefer not to have our skylines be filled with large buildings.  We are a hardy people willing to help others during their time of need and we always support the rule of law and common decency.  We want to preserve our bountiful resources while still being able to support our families and way of life.  I am a husband, father, grandfather, veteran, small business owner, hunter, fisherman and conservationist.  Current leadership in St. Paul does not understand our way of life and want to replace our values with theirs, we cannot let this happen.  I want to be your State Representative and ask for your vote on November 3rd so I can defend our Northern Minnesota Values in St. Paul

Bliss criticizes Rep. Persell for voting to support two anti-gun bills

PENNINGTON — Former state Rep. Matt Bliss, a candidate for House District 5A, harshly criticized current Bemidji Democrat Rep. John Persell after Persell voted in favor of of two anti-gun bills Thursday on the House floor. Persell was among Democrats who voted to in favor of H.F. 8 and H.F. 9 as they passed the House with bipartisan opposition. Bliss said the bills infringe on the Second Amendment by violating due process and effectively creating a state gun registry.

“This is a huge issue to the people in our region and Rep. Persell just turned his back on every District 5A citizen who cherishes the Second Amendment,” Bliss said. “These anti-gun bills Rep. Persell voted for create strict new hurdles and barriers for law-abiding Minnesotans, violate our constitutional rights and will do nothing to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals.

“On the House floor, Rep. Persell even refused to answer any questions related to H.F. 8, the universal gun registration and background check bill. On top of that, Rep. Persell is a co-sponsor and was the deciding vote to approve H.F. 9, the Red Flag bill, which undermines due process for gun confiscations. The people of District 5A deserve to know why he sided with metro Democrats by infringing on our gun rights, but Rep. Persell failed to provide them that respect. It’s shameful.”

New Radio Spot – Healthcare (Surprise Billing)

Here is the full audio and transcript:

Transcript:

Hello, this is state Representative Matt Bliss. Two years ago, area citizens elected me as their State Representative and asked me to fix the problem of rising health care costs.

In addition to stopping and reversing rising healthcare costs in the individual marketplace, we stopped the practice of surprise medical billing. Families in our area went to the hospital and assumed their insurance would cover the procedure, only to end up being hit with thousands of dollars in unexpected medical costs.

That is what we call surprise billing and it can be downright devastating to families.

The good news is I worked hard with fellow Legislators to successfully put an end to surprise billing in our state.

We went to bat for Minnesotans and passed a new law prohibiting surprise billing. This will provide people with peace of mind so they can spend their energy healing instead of worrying about what to do about unexpected bills piling up.

I am State Representative Matt Bliss and I remain committed to lowering the cost of healthcare in Minnesota and I am asking for your vote on November 6th.

Transcript:
Hi, this is state Representative Matt Bliss. As someone who served in the Navy and comes from a family with a deep history of service, from my 7 uncles who served in WW1, of which only 6 returned to my father who enlisted right here in Bemidji, only days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor to my brother who served in Viet Nam. I’ll always fight to make sure our veterans are taken care of and receive the support they deserve.

As vice chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I am proud of the accomplishments during my first two years in office.

We secured, $12.4 million in state funding for a new veterans home in Bemidji. This will finally put care within reach for northern Minnesota veterans who have been underserved for too long.

A number of bills I authored to help veterans were enacted. One cracked down on predatory lending practices targeting vulnerable veterans and their spouses. Another provided funding for homeless veterans.

We may never be able to fully repay our immense debt to our veterans, but that won’t stop me from trying.

I am State Representative Matt Bliss and I am asking for your vote on November 6th.

Vote! Tuesday, 11/8
